Overview

Purpose

Environments so clear
A world so vivid
Vision from within
Where one sense falters
More takes life
The ability to perceive but not see
Keeps him present
True reality is within
His mind steady works
Perfecting the ever changing landscape
Just as a miner forages for diamonds
Every hit changes the surface
Breaking it down for a new discovery
The hermit is the same
He laid the groundwork
Analyzed the cadence
Made it his
Thus created a vision
An eye that lays closed
Feels everything
It will not be deceived
Achieving his master work
The discovery already found
It’s his
The truth of alchemy

Beauty within the Darkness

This collection represents light and dark. A dual reality.

The tone of Mawon Limyè is Haitian Creole translating to "brown light." The Haitian Creole language is derived from African Slaves using a combination of French and West-African dialect as a means to communicate with one another. Thus creating light amidst the darkest of circumstances.

Just as a miner forages for diamonds within the darkness so do these expressions find light throughout a dark landscape

Creating Unity

Each photo adds to the meaning of the collection and should be taken at face value as well as in context of the poem and the premise.
